Through the delivery of a powerful and relatable presentation, we aim to assist employers to engage employees and promote personal ownership of risk management within the workplace.
Brant is a 41 year old young man who lives in Brisbane with his wife and seven young children ranging in ages from two to 18. Brant lost both legs at 19 years of age as a result of injuries sustained in a workplace accident that occurred on a coal mine 20th January 1999.
For the past 10 years, Brant has been sharing his confronting story with both large and small organisations throughout Australia and New Zealand, with all clients reporting a positive improvement in behaviours as a result. “The message is simple, choices I made at the time resulted in the consequences I must now live with. If there is one thing Brant wants employees to take away from the session is that the old ‘it wouldn’t happen to me’ attitude is gone. Brant discusses candidly the details of his accident, the system failures which in turn triggered industry change & the introduction of the risk assessment tools we now use today, but more importantly, the missed opportunities for prevention with regards to isolation, communication and change management.
